ARTS AND SCIENCES CONVOCATION
The College of Arts and Sciences will hold its convocation at 9 a.m. May 10 in the Carrier Dome. About 900 bachelor’s degree candidates are expected to participate in the ceremony. Those attending should enter by gates A, B, and E.
Cathryn R. Newton, Dean and Professor of Interdisciplinary Sciences, will deliver the faculty address and Thomas P. Hackman, a political science and policy studies major, will deliver the senior address.
College Marshals Roslyn E. Esperon, Thomas P. Hackman, and Dana M. Roberts will be recognized.
Associate Dean Susan S. Wadley will introduce Dean Cathryn R. Newton, who will preside over the ceremony. Associate Dean Gerald R. Greenberg and Assistant Professor of African-American Studies, Kheli Willetts, will read the names of candidates as they are individually recognized. Associate Dean David Potter will present college pins to the graduating seniors with the assistance of the College Marshals.
Departmental receptions will follow at various campus locations.

On Saturday, May 10, The College of Arts and Sciences will host convocations for Bachelor’s and Master’s Candidates. Each convocation includes individual recognition of the graduating students as their names are read and they cross the stage to be greeted by Dean Cathryn Newton and others. Both convocations are followed by a RECEPTION offering light snacks for the graduates and their faculties, family and friends.
